This morning, we ventured into the city to attend the annual "The Taste of DC". Now that our eldest was finally home from her recent adventure in Africa, we wanted to do something special to welcome her back. The last time we went to this event was before our youngest was even born. That's him on the right. Let's just say its been a while.
We quickly figured out how things worked. For a select number of tickets, you could purchase samples from different food booths with representatives from different DC restaurants. We shared everything, so its difficult to figure how just how much we really ate. I can tell you this...we all had a great time trying not only our favorites, but many things we had never before tried. We had samples of crab salad, veggie curry pockets with mango hot sauce, Mexican grilled corn on the cob, veggie fried rice, sweet plantains, a slice veggie pizza, hummus and pita, California rolls, butternut squash soup, and guacamole and chips. My husband also had a yummy looking Irish Quiche, but I had to say no thank you. It had ham in it. Our youngest also had french fries and a snow cone. We each tried free samples of a drink we'd never had called Fuze Slenderize. It was really good. http://www.drinkfuze.ca/ I recommend it.

There were things we loved as well as things we had never ever seen before.

It was a warm sunny day, about 80 degrees, and the crowds were out of control, but no one really minded. We had plenty of water and besides, we were fortunate enough to get to see "Ben's Chili Eating Contest". We watched Joey Chestnut break the world's record eating the equivalent of two gallons of chili (the previous record was one and a half gallons).
By the time we used up all the tickets we had purchased, we agreed that we had fun getting a taste of our Nation's Capital. I know two things. One, we'll be back next year. Two, no one is going to want a big dinner tonight.
Nice posting, what I am exactly searched is available in your website. Thanks Bye
